Ray Edward Reed was born December 09, 1950 in Round Rock, Texas to Robert Reed Sr. and Mary Jane Reed.

Ray attended schools within the Austin Independent School District finishing his education at Reagan High School. In October 1972 he married Patricia Ann Clayborne and from that union two children were born, Catina Reed Moore and Christopher Ray Reed. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Ray worked for several years with the hospital until his health failed and retired from Austin Diagnostic Clinic.

Ray was a father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He was someone who never met a stranger and could hang with the best of them including singing in various musical groups in the Austin area. Ray (Uncle Booky) was known by many for his love of singing R & B and always dancing.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; four sisters; Louise Stewart, Margie Bonner, Izetta Reed and Ella Collins; six brothers, Willie Reed, Walter Reed, Lonzo Reed, Robert Reed, Freddie Reed and Bobby O'Neal Reed. He departed this life on October 24, 2020-

He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife- Patricia Reed; a daughter, Catina Reed Moore (Leonard) of Hutto, Texas, and a son, Christopher (Ray-Ray) Reed of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Leon Reed (Freida), Cecil Reed (Annis) and Raymond Reed, all of Austin, Texas. One sister in law, Deborah Atkinson (William) of Pflugerville Texas, two brothers in law; George Watkins (Carolyn) and Marvin Clayborne of Austin, Texas. Three granddaughters; Tiarra Reed, Tanya Rogers, and Cornesha Blount. Ten great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
